How SolveR works: AI processes the data, the engineer decides.
SolveR is problem-solving and root cause analysis software for manufacturing: your engineer solves the problem with the standard method that fits it, while SolveR builds the record from your documents and suggests what has already worked. Every closed case stays in one knowledge base, so the next engineer starts from what the plant already knows.
Four steps: from documents to a closed case
Connects your documents and your records.
e-mails, PDFs, Excel sheets, photos and old reports
Guides the case through standard methods.
the methods your engineers already trust
Suggests causes and actions from your closed cases.
shows the source of each one, and the engineer decides
Remembers every case your plant has closed.
the knowledge stays when people move on
Which method for which problem
| Method | For which problem | Typical duration | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8D method | A customer complaint, a safety issue or a problem that keeps coming back | 1 to 4 weeks | The answer for the customer in one document |
| 4-Step | Internal scrap, rework or parts out of spec | 1 to 5 days | A case the engineer closes alone |
| PDCA cycle | An idea that needs testing | days to months | An outcome for every idea, even if it is to drop it |
| A3 report | A problem management needs to understand | 1 to 6 weeks | One page for management |
| Kaizen | A team improvement in one area | 3 to 5 days | A standard with an owner and a review date |
| DMAIC | Process variation with an unknown cause | 1 to 6 months | The project record with evidence from Define to Control |
| Just-Do-It | A simple problem at one workstation | up to 1 day | A record built during the work |
| Brain | Whether you have solved something similar before | whenever you need it | An answer with its source |
| Your method | Your team already follows its own steps | depends on your steps | Your own steps, with the same knowledge base |
Every team picks the method that fits the problem, and one knowledge base stands behind all of them.
One knowledge base: what goes in and what comes out
In
Every closed case, whatever the method: confirmed causes, actions that worked, completed validations, prevention that holds and the outcomes of PDCA experiments. At onboarding, your 8D and FMEA archive goes in as well.
Out
When an engineer describes a new problem, SolveR shows similar solved cases from your plant: causes that were already confirmed, and the actions and prevention that held. Every suggestion shows its source: a document, a measurement or an earlier case.
SolveR does not guess. It suggests what worked, and the engineer decides, checking each suggestion and accepting or rejecting it. You can also search the same base directly with Brain.

What you get
Standard methods that walk your engineer through the case.
Nobody starts from an empty template, and nobody works from memory.
A knowledge base that gets smarter with every case.
The next engineer starts from what the plant already knows.
A record a customer or auditor can follow from start to finish.
Every step is recorded and linked, so nothing needs cleaning up before an audit.
How SolveR compares with other tools: 8D report tools compared.
What it means for you
Managing director
Fewer engineering hours go into problems you have already solved, because the solved case can be found. When an experienced engineer leaves, the knowledge stays in the company. The same team solves almost 2x more cases in the same hours.
Quality director
Actions rest on a confirmed root cause, so problems stay solved. You can show a customer or an auditor the trail from the first symptom to prevention. The hours saved go into preventing the next one.
Technology director
The engineer closes internal scrap and rework alone in 4-Step, with no team and no forms, and 8D is kept for the cases that need it. What one engineer learns, the next one finds in the knowledge base. The time saved goes into improvements and development.
Numbers from a pilot on 8D cases
The numbers come from a pilot on real 8D cases. We timed the first with a stopwatch in steps D2 and D4, calculated the second from an hours model for a full 8D, and the third holds by design of the knowledge base.

Security and data
Your data stays in the EU, encrypted in transit and at rest, and kept separate from other companies' data. When AI processes your documents, they are never used to train any model.

How we start
- 1Discovery callBring one real case, two documents are enough. We show it in SolveR on your own data.
- 2PilotWe solve the first case together, then your engineers work through their own real cases. At the end you know the time per case before and after, what has built up in the knowledge base and where SolveR did not help.
- 3OnboardingA workshop at your site where users start working on their own data. We bring your 8D and FMEA archive into the knowledge base.
After each step, you decide whether we go on.
Questions about how SolveR works
Which method should I use for a new problem?
Pick it by the type of problem. A customer complaint, a safety issue or a problem that keeps coming back goes into 8D. Internal scrap and rework go into 4-Step, an idea that needs testing into PDCA, and a problem management needs to understand into A3. A simple problem at one workstation is closed with Just-Do-It. Whatever you pick, the closed case goes into the same knowledge base.
Can SolveR follow our own procedure and report template?
Yes, as Your method. You send your procedure and report template, we build the steps from them, trial the method on one of your cases and then go live. After go-live, the method writes into the same knowledge base as every other.
What happens to our old 8D reports and FMEA?
At onboarding we bring them into the knowledge base. When an engineer describes a new problem, SolveR shows them among the similar solved cases, so a new case starts from what your plant has already solved.
What does the AI do, and what does the engineer do?
The AI reads the documents of the case, drafts the problem description from them and suggests causes and actions from your plant's closed cases, each with its source. When data is missing or too vague, it says so. The engineer checks every suggestion, accepts or rejects it, and closes the case.
Is our data used to train AI models?
No. Your data is never used to train any model. Your cases stay in your own separate environment and build only your own knowledge base. The details for IT and security are on Security & Architecture.
